It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement from dentistry. Many of you know that my parents are 89 and 92. My in-laws are also in their mid to late 80s and all of them live in northwestern Pennsylvania. My husband, Tyrone, and I desire to spend quality time with them and help them remain in their homes for as long as possible. We are so blessed to have them all with us and able to live independently.
I have spent a great deal of time searching for the right person to take over my practice and I am very pleased to introduce Dr. Yuchen Sheng. She moved here from China at age 17 with her family and is a 2012 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. She previously owned a general practice in Miami, FL but due to her husband's career, they moved to Texas.
She has advanced training in addressing complex bite problems and implant surgery. She recently gave birth to her second daughter and I am currently working to allow her maternity leave. We will be transitioning in mid-January and the rest of the staff will continue to be here for you as always. I will also remain available to make sure this transition goes smoothly for everyone.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that I write this letter. Many of you said that I could never retire and I appreciate those kind words immensely. I thank you for all the wonderful years, the referral of your family and friends, and your loyalty to the practice. I will miss you all. I am confident that Dr. Sheng is committed to providing the best quality dentistry that I strived to do all these years. I hope you will continue your loyalty to her and the practice."
